CORE RESEARCH GROUP
Location: These positions are located
in Culver City (west side of Los Angeles)
The Core Research group of Symantec Research Labs is the main research arm
of Symantec corporation that focuses on the research and development of
advanced technologies in the areas of computer/data security, file/data
management, and high-availability clustering service and applications,
that will have direct impacts on existing and future Symantec products.
There are four immediate openings in the Core Research group at Symantec Research
Labs (SRL). Three of them are available to graduating Ph.D. students and
one of them requires a Master's degree. Fresh Ph.D. students must complete
their dissertation defense before they start.
- One Ph.D.-level research staff position for candidates that have extensive
development experiences with large-scale data mining, machine learning
applications or statistical natural language processing.
- One Ph.D.-level research staff position for candidates that have extensive
hands-on experiences with various virtualization technologies and their
applications , including HAL-based virtualization (VMware and Xen), OS-level
OS-level virtualization, application virtualization or presentation virtualization.
- One Ph.D.-level research staff position for candidates with substantial expertise in
binary analysis and transformation, software security, or anti-spam/phishing research.
- One Master-level software engineer position for candidates with strong backgrounds on
basic data structures and C/C++ application development on the Windows platform.
